Our Bling Tree and Metallic Tree

As I mentioned in a previous post, my husband I celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas. I like to use the term Chrismukkah when I think of the holiday season. Some people may thing it is strange to see both a menorah and Christmas trees (yes trees) in our house, but I like to embrace it all! One of my favorite aspects of decorating for the holidays is decorating our trees. There are so many possibilities for color schemes and tree themes, that I could never make up my mind. I convinced my husband that we should have two trees. So now the kids that grew up without a Christmas tree in their homes have some fancy trees!

The first tree is our "bling" tree. It reminds me of winter, with its white and silver tones, just like snow and ice. This year, we added some charcoal grey to add a little contrast.

Our other tree has the warm metallic tones that I love so much. It has copper, bronze, and gold ornaments.

I love the fairy ornaments and the bronze poinsettias.

The mask ornaments were a great find at Target a few years ago.

My husband I each have a 'J' on the tree for the first letter of our first names.

Holiday Mantel

This year I'm continuing to decorate with for the holidays with a color I have never used before, purple! I had so much fun using this color for my winter tablescape, that I decided to use it on my mantel as well. Let me first start off my saying that I greatly dislike my fireplace and mantel. The fireplace insert isn't centered and the mantel is VERY narrow. This never does stop me from decorating it for every holiday and occasion.

I started decorating by using a green garland and adding silver leaves, ornaments, and "iced" pine branches.

I found these mini purple trees at Christmas Tree Shops. They added just the amount of color I was looking for.

 Keeping with my Winter Wonderland theme, I hung snowflakes over the mantel. I layered purple, silver, and charcoal colored ornaments in tall glass vases. I bought the silver goblet candle holders at HomeGoods a few years ago and have used them for many different seasons.

I do love the decorations that I have used in the past on my mantel and decided to decorate one of my sofa tables with all of those warm accents.
