Mother's Day has always been a big event in my family. Being that my birthday is so close to Mother's Day, my parents always joined the two and celebrated with the whole family. For this years celebration, I offered to design my mom's dining room tablescape. Originally, I had plans to use a metal wedding tree and cover it with hanging moss and flowers, but the tree was too tall for the table (much to my dismay). Then I found an idea on the Hostess with the Mostess blog which used vases wrapped in wrapping paper. I wrapped my vases in brightly colored wrapping paper and added ribbon at the top of each vase. I had grass placemats that I bought from Heart to Heart, and used those as my table runner.
I bought my flowers from locals flower markets and also went around my parent's yard and picked flowers to fill the vases. The white crabapple flowers were from a tree planted in memory of my memere. It was my little way of having her with us on Mother's Day.
